Bearings Privacy Policy
Effective November 5, 2026
Bearings is a recovery app made by Metamorphosis Therapy Center. This policy explains what happens to the information you put into the app.
The short version
Everything you enter in Bearings stays on your iPhone. We do not collect it, see it, or store it anywhere else. Bearings has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking.
What the app stores
Bearings saves what you enter, such as your plan, check-ins, journal entries, urge ratings, support contacts, and voice or written messages, only on your device. iOS encrypts this data whenever your phone is locked. You can turn on an optional Face ID lock inside the app.
What we receive
Nothing. Bearings does not send your information to Metamorphosis Therapy Center or to anyone else. We have no server that receives your data, and we use no third-party analytics or advertising tools.
Permissions
Bearings asks for these permissions only when you use a feature that needs them:
Face ID, to lock the app. Apple handles Face ID, and we never receive your face data.
Microphone, only when you record a private voice message to yourself. Recordings stay on your iPhone.
Notifications, for reminders you choose to turn on.
When you tap to call or text someone, Bearings opens your phone's own Phone or Messages app. Links to meeting finders and other resources open in your web browser, and those websites have their own privacy policies.
Backups
If you back up your iPhone with iCloud or a computer, Apple's backup may include Bearings data, under Apple's privacy terms. Deleting the app deletes its data from your phone.
Children
Bearings is intended for adults 18 and older.
Not medical care
Bearings is a self-help tool. It is not a substitute for medical care or therapy. In an emergency, call 911.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
